Happy TGIF, today is fitness Friday. I just wanted to let you all know the power of interval training. Even if you are new to fitness, anyone can do interval training. It is all about pushing and recovering. For example, If you are just starting out on your fitness journey and you have decided to start walking. When you go for your walk you would walk fast for 3 minutes then walk slow for 1 minute. These are intervals, you would do the same if you like jogging, jog fast for 3 minutes then walk for a brisk minute. Intervals are a great way to lose weight and get a very effective workout in less time. The same people you see at the gym doing their hour of cardio on the treadmill, could get better results by doing intervals for 30 minutes. Interval workouts help your body burn 30% more calories than exercising at one set pace and can increase your metabolism for up to 12 hours.
