Be In The Present Moment

There is a lot of talk lately about how everyone is so disconnected from the real world.  People
are distracted by computers, cell phones ipods, etc. You name it, we get distracted by it.  I think
we should all give technology a rest maybe just for a couple of hours or a day.
 I love technology just like anyone else, but sometimes feel myself getting to obsessed with it.  In the next couple of days try to focus on being in the present moment.  Just be, sit alone in a chair making sure the ringers are off on your phone and your free from distractions.
 Concentrate on your breath just recognize your breath flowing in and out of your nostrils and how it feels. Does it feel cool or warm?  If your mind tends to wander on the millions of thoughts you are having, just bring yourself back to your breath.  If you focus on just giving yourself little moments of time to be in the present you will feel much more calm and have more clarity.
Today, just start with 2 minutes.  Gradually increase the minutes each week and work yourself up to 10 minutes etc. I hope this information is helpful to you.  Everyone deserves to be happy and free from daily stress.  Let me know how being present is helping you in your life.

Recovering From Surgery

Hi, just giving everyone a quick update on my knee. My surgery went really well.  I had a small amount of pain but it was tolerable.  I am eager to get back to being able to walk instead of hobble.  I am going to physical therapy in December, so that should really help me get my range of motion back.  I have heard it can take awhile to fully recover. I am anticipating the day when I am able to start exercising again.  Have a great Thanksgiving!

Yep, That's What I Thought!

Hi, everyone I just wanted to give you an update on my knee.  Well, unfortunately I need surgery.
I tore my ACL and it is going to put me out of commission for awhile.  It never fails the minute you decide to get healthy and start an exercise program you wind up hurting yourself.  Such as life, I guess.  I hope everyone had a great week.  I will be doing more posts I hope.  I think I will be trying out my first vlog sometime soon.  If there is something you would like me to talk about or anything you want to know about me, or if I can help you in any way let me know.  Take care :)

It Figures

Hi, everyone I just had to write this because I really need to vent. So here it goes. I finally decide to get off my butt and start being serious about getting in shape. So, I decide to sign up with my best friend to take a hip hop dance workout class. Well, the first 20 minutes of class went great. Then we learned a move. We jumped up in the air and then came down with our legs spread shoulder width apart. I go to jump up and what happens?  I came down on my foot wrong and my knee popped.  I feel to the ground in pain. Needless to say, I felt like a complete idiot and was embarrassed. So, they brought me some ice and I waited until the class was over. I felt horrible and was worried that I let my best friend down. I thought to myself, I was just trying to enjoy myself and look what happens.
Well, my friend helped me out to the car and I hopped into the house  with one leg the whole way. I hope it is just sprained, but time will tell. Has anything like this ever happened to you?
